Joe Unell

Joe is a passionate entrepreneur and the co-owner of Gringo Joe’s. He began the business in the late 1990’s, importing pottery wire baskets and metal sculptures and selling these unique items at the Dallas Farmers Market and other local fairs and expos.

Joe attended Grapevine High school where he was president of the business class. He was on the football team as a freshman, sophomore and junior and the baseball team as a sophomore. He went on to the University of North Texas to pursue Business degree.

Business has always been a source of passion for Joe and he saw early success while in the Dallas Farmers Market in the early 2000’s. Joe was the official spokesman and president of the nearly 300 market vendors. He was voted in because he is bilingual and was understanding of all of the vendors needs. He fought the city as they forced farmers and importers to leave their market locations. The Dallas Farmers market was sold in 2007 to a private group that has redeveloped it and since changed its atmosphere.

Having a strong following from the Farmers Market Joe rented a warehouse on Slocum Street in the Design District in 2007. With continuing success, Joe decided to begin selling wholesale to other stores and led him to exhibit in many trade shows all over the country. Joe has an impressive client list including TJ-Max (Home Goods), Ross, and many more. Additionally Joe’s Company is an officially licensed collegiate décor manufacturer that represents nearly 75 Universities Nationwide. He has plans of adding professional teams to this list in the years to come.

Joe has attended every major trade show in the country and is an expert marketer. His company carries over 3,000 items, most are hand-made and many are created from recycled materials. His warehouse is still in the Dallas Design District in a property he purchased in 2010. On site, Joe purchased a brand new state of the art robotic plasma cutter with the purpose of bringing back manufacturing to the USA. Joe is a proud member of the GO TEXAN Association that is helping promote Texas made products.

In 2019 after several negative dealings with unscrupulous and uncaring Realtor/Brokers Joe decided to attain his own Real Estate Sales Agent License. He felt he would provide his local community with real value. Always keeping in mind that he is representing his client’s needs in every transaction. After being licensed just 1 year he has several commercial and residential sales and Leases under his belt.

Joe has always been a people person motivated by providing consumers products they will enjoy for a lifetime. Joe has 2 children he loves to spend time with.
